The Arroyo Seco, or “Dry Stream” in Spanish, is a river stretching from the San Gabriel mountains above Pasadena to Los Angeles where it joins the Los Angeles River. It’s name reflects the fact that it appears to be dry most of the year. However, appearances are deceiving. The Arroyo Seco is always flowing underground, replenishing the aquifer underneath Pasadena.
